Talks & Video Archive

KubeEdge has been presented at many industry conferences — most notably KubeCon + CloudNativeCon — since the project joined the CNCF in 2019 and graduated in 2024. This page collects entry points to those recordings so users, operators, and prospective contributors can explore how the project has evolved and how others have deployed it in production.

We deliberately link to the upstream playlists and event archives rather than embedding individual videos here, so that the list stays current as new talks are published.

Where to find KubeEdge talks

CNCF / KubeCon + CloudNativeCon

KubeEdge sessions at every KubeCon + CloudNativeCon (Europe, North America, China, Japan, India, and Open Source Summit colocated events) are published on the official CNCF YouTube channel. The fastest way to browse them is to search the channel for "KubeEdge":

Typical talk categories you will find:

  • Project updates / maintainer track — current state, recent releases, and the roadmap.
  • Deep dives — architecture (CloudCore, EdgeCore, EdgeMesh, MetaManager), device management (DMI / Mapper Framework), networking, and security.
  • User / case-study talks — how telcos, automotive, robotics, energy, and industrial-IoT users run KubeEdge in production. See also Case Studies.
  • Cross-project talks — KubeEdge with Cilium, KubeEdge with Sedna/Ianvs (AI at the edge), KubeEdge with EdgeMesh, etc.

Community meeting recordings

Recordings of the regular community meetings are published to a dedicated YouTube playlist:

These are not edited conference talks but they are an excellent way to see live design discussions, in-progress feature demos, and Q&A with maintainers.

Project channels and blogs

  • KubeEdge blog — long-form release announcements, design write-ups, and case studies are published at kubeedge.io/blog and mirrored under the blog/ directory of the website repository. Several blog posts pair directly with conference talks; the post usually links to the recording when one exists.
  • KubeEdge on the CNCF project page — entry point with links to graduation announcement, devstats, and CNCF news.
  • KubeEdge on X / Twitter — announcements of upcoming talks and live coverage from KubeCon.

Notable past events

Rather than maintain a hand-curated list of individual videos here (which would go stale quickly), we group the major recurring events where you can reliably find a KubeEdge talk:

  • KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe — held annually since 2019; KubeEdge has appeared on the main agenda and on maintainer-track sessions every year since.
  • KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America — annual; includes maintainer track sessions and edge-focused colocated events.
  • KubeCon + CloudNativeCon China — typically the venue for the largest KubeEdge presence, including graduation announcements and case-study tracks from Chinese telco, energy, and industrial users.
  • KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Japan / India — newer regional KubeCons that have featured KubeEdge talks since their inception.
  • Open Source Summit (Linux Foundation) — KubeEdge has featured in edge-computing and IoT tracks.
  • CNCF on-line events — webinars and "Project Journey" reports, including the KubeEdge graduation report and security audit summaries.

For the up-to-date list, search the Linux Foundation past events archive by event name and look at the schedule pages.

Suggesting additions

If you have given a KubeEdge talk and you would like it featured on the project blog or this page, please:

  1. Open a pull request against the kubeedge/website repository adding a link here or a blog post under blog/.
  2. Or mention it in the next community meeting so it can be picked up and linked from the recordings playlist.
